Training, Education and Development
The Trust employs seven staff with specific responsibility for the Nursing Training,
Education and Development function. Individual roles vary considerably and these staff
are currently involved in the development of a more cohesive and strategic Trust wide
framework. There is a great deal of activity with skills training, the development of short
courses and the facilitation of projects at a variety of levels across the Trust. This includes
a longitudinal study with the RCN Institute and the development of initiatives with the
University of the West of England and the Wiltshire TEC.
Recent success has meant that the award of funds has enabled a number of initiatives to
be undertaken such as a 6 month project to develop Return to Nursing programmes and
specialist training for Paediatrics, Midwifery and Oncology.
